THRILL ME: THE LEOPOLD & LOEB STORY is a two-character musical drama that recounts the chilling true story of the legendary duo who committed one of the most infamous and heinous crimes of the twentieth century. Focusing on their obsessive relationship and utilizing Leopold's 1958 parole hearing as a framework, THRILL ME reveals the series of events in 1924 Chicago that led about-to-be law students Leopold and Loeb to be forever remembered as "the thrill killers." Nathan Leopold was passionate about Richard Loeb, who was passionate about crime and excitement. They created a secret agreement to satisfy each other's needs. Soon Richard convinced Nathan that they embodied Nietzsche's idea of the "Superman" and were above society. Then he drew him into his plan to lure a young boy to his death just to prove they could get away with it. But soon their perfect crime unraveled due to a careless mistake. Or was it so careless?

As you may know, the New London Peoples Forum has a voluntary component to its mission. One way for NLPF to help the community is to bring items for the Alliance for Living http://www.allianceforliving.org who is dedicated to helping those affected by HIV/AIDS. A representative from NLPF will deliver the donations to the organization. Alliance is always in need of such things as toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand/body lotions, VHS or DVD movies (new or used but not pirated) for their video library, $10 increment gift cards at WalMart, Stop & Shop, Shop Rite, Bigy Y. And, for those moving into housing, Alliance for Living tries to supply sheets/pillow cases, towels/washcloths, pots and pans, baking sheets and pans, dishes, glasses, silverware, etc. Many of these items are helpful but do not need to be new. So, if you are cleaning out your closets, think of the Alliance for Living. Please note that a donation is not required to attend a meeting, and, we look forward to seeing you at our monthly gatherings.

Norwich, 6:00 to 8:00 p. m., Monday, April 13, 2009.

The charming and witty Brett Bernardini, Founder and Artistic Director will be our guide and host. This too-good-to-be-true invitation is a chance for everyone in our group to have a casual social get together in a colorful theatrical setting.

come celebrate the Kinsey Sexagennial – the 60th anniversary of the publication of the Kinsey Report - by joining us for a publication release party at New London's fabulous Golden Street Gallery on Sunday, December 21st!

The event, in honor of Alfred C. Kinsey's monumental scientific publishing achievement, is open to all adults and will include a reading from guest editor Ron Suresha, a slide presentation on the Kinsey publications and translations, and a Kinsey travelogue, for this special issue of the Journal of Bisexuality: Kinsey Zero through Sixty: Bisexual Perspectives on Kinsey.

The double issue of Journal of Bisexuality (8:3-4), focuses on Alfred C. Kinsey's work, life, and legacy, and his effect on and relationship with bisexuality and all aspects of bisexual culture.

Entitled Kinsey Zero through Sixty: Bisexual Perspectives on Kinsey, the work is scheduled for December 15, 2008 publication, and copies may be ordered at the reception for January shipment. The Golden Street Gallery, located in the heart of downtown NuLo, is now celebrating its "sexy seven" anniversary.

The informal reception starts at 2:00, and the reading will begin around 2:30. Please come - and wear something sexagennial!

The festivities will begin on Wednesday, November 12th at 10am on the sidewalk in front of New Haven City Hall, 165 Church Street. Barb and Robin Levine-Ritterman of New Haven, one of the eight plaintiff couples in the Kerrigan case, will be the first couple to apply for a marriage license there.
Later the same day, at 2:30pm at West Hartford Town Hall, 50 South Main Street, plaintiffs Beth Kerrigan and Jody Mock of West Hartford will apply for their marriage license.

We wanted to remind you of our Pot Luck dinner planned for Monday, April 21 at Alliance for Living from 6 to 8. Please email Alan with what you plan to bring so that we can minimize repeat dishes.

At our last meeting, we discussed three general areas of focus: social, education, and activism. Think about what areas or skills you'd be willing to share or upcoming events that may be of interest to others. We can always use a helping hand! Feel free to contact us at newlondonpf@gmail.com with any ideas and suggestions.

Here are a few ideas for social events we can discuss at the next meeting: wine tasting, movie & dinner, casino night, "taking over", backyard barbecue, museum visit, theater event at Connecticut College, and more! Please feel free to share your ideas.

Please spread the word about our next meeting. Attached is one of our flyers. Feel free to post it around town or wherever! This will be a great chance to get to know one another and have fun!!!

* Once a month meeting – 3rd Monday
* Main themes: Social, Education and Activism
* We need a champion for each chapter
* Provide ideas for future activities, discussions, etc
* We agreed on voluntary contribution, either in kind or in dollars
* One person will be the “cash keeper” and at the end of each mtg the “cash keeper” and another member will count the cash collected and document it appropriately
* We agreed on having a 15-20 minute break at each mtg. The main objective of this break is allow people to mingle, interact and talk on a one on one basis.
* We agreed on establishing an e-idea box to take advantage of our mutual creativity
* We agreed on sending information about community events to the web page so everybody is aware of what is going on in our community.
* Please donate food, wine, candies, chocolates or whatever you may think is appropriate for our “Diversity Basket” to be raffled on April 5th at the Art for Life event in Mystic Art Center.
This needs to be delivered to Alan Johnson not later than Fri March 27 at the Alliance for Living Center
